Dear Members of the Saint Louis Ohana: Students: Parents, Faculty, Staff & Coaches
This morning we were informed by a structural engineer consultant that the Gerber Field House is a structural liability because of unforeseen and excessive corrosion damages at the support base of the building.
Our highest priority is the safety of our students and staff. Currently, we have evacuated the facility and ask that all patrons to the field house avoid the area. Saint Louis School security has determined boundaries surrounding the field house as “no-pass” zones and will be present to enforce these parameters throughout the school day, including before and after school hours.
We ask for your patience as we explore temporary and permanent solutions. As more information is available, we will notify the ohana of athletic office relocations, practice and game schedules, and event relocations.
We’d like to provide parents an opportunity to speak with school administration, in lieu of phone calls, we invite all parents and athletes to an informational meeting tomorrow evening, Tuesday, August 7th at 6:00 p.m. in the Dr. Richard T. Mamiya Theatre. Thank you for your support and patience as we work to ensure a safe campus.
Memor et Fidelis,
Walter S. Kirimitsu, ‘58
President
