Waikiki Aquarium Docents Honors English 11 Men host Koko Head Elementary Students
Students researched specific marine animals at the aquarium to teach 40 Koko Head Elementary 1st graders about how animals in Hawaii adapt to their environments. Aquarium visit was a culmination of a Hawaii-based knowledge unit.
The objective was to uncover, rediscover and seek out knowledge that exists in Hawaii. In this unit, students also researched various areas of Oahu to discover: meaning of name, mythology, olelo Noeau and important sites.
"No longer do I want students from Hawaii to put limits on their goals, dreams and aspirations for I want them to think about their lives as having endless possibilities, rather than a world of limitations," says Mr. Goto about this project.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE Haiti Releif Efforts
Saint Louis School's raised $2,530.00 toward the Haiti Relief Fund efforts for the Marianist Community serving in Haiti. First, a junior student, Andrew Thompson, asked himself "how can I make a difference today for those affect by this tragedy?" Second, the National Honor Society held a one day bake sale between Newell Hall and Bertram Hall.
The collaboration efforts across the campus yielded a small effort to go a long way in Haiti. Our prayers continue for the people affected by the devastating earthquakes and those who have chosen to serve the relief efforts.
