Fourth
Grade Retreat “Who Is Jesus?”
The fourth grade retreat
involves students reflecting on Jesus Christ and who he can be for
them. While some students may not be Christian, they will explore
different qualities of Jesus Christ and see how they can fit into
their everyday lives. This retreat is led by a student team of freshmen
and sophomores.
Fifth

The fifth grade retreat introduces
students to the Christian community. Activities led by a team of
freshmen and sophomores, there is a focus on the students’ role
in community, namely, and how their actions affect others. They
reflect on their class and school communities, but most importantly
their families.
Sixth
Grade “Trust In The Lord”
The theme of the retreat,
“Trust In The Lord,” is integrated into all activities led by a
retreat team of juniors and seniors. The three areas of focus are:
(1) learning to trust yourself, (2) learning to trust others, and
(3) learning to trust God. Hands-on activities are used to help
the students on their journey of trusting others to be able to develop
healthy relationships in the future.
Seventh

retreat team of juniors and seniors, are designed to facilitate
the process of the seventh graders in becoming responsible young

teamwork and communication as a means of being responsible in everyday
relationships. Also included are activities that will help students
personalize their actions and their consequences.
Eighth

is on establishing lasting friendships with oneself, others and
God. The retreat team, led by juniors and seniors, engage the students
in activities designed to encourage communication among group members.

gifts and talents and to use them to befriend others and to recognize
the qualities of Jesus Christ that make him a source of friendship.
Ninth
Grade “Unity”

focused around bringing the class together as one to lay the foundation
for their high school years. Based on a passage from Corinthians,
ninth graders are offered chances to strengthen their communication
skills, share their burdens with one another, examine their God-given
gifts, and reflect on people in their lives with Jesus-like qualities.
Tenth
Grade “Colors of the Rainbow”
By using their imagination,
sophomores are brought to an experiential realization of the value
of God and of the people in their lives. With a focus on the story
of Noah, in which God establishes a new covenant with humanity,
students express and share their experiences of God, themselves,
family and friends to understand how much God loves them and how
valuable they are. (Two and one-half days, two nights; Saint Anthony
Retreat Center)
Eleventh
Grade “Emmaus”
On the Emmaus retreat, students
take a journey with the Apostles to Emmaus after Jesus’ Resurrection.
Activities are designed to help juniors become more aware of the
many ways God touches them and increases their awareness of His
work. On their own personal journey, students experience the presence
of Christ in a community setting that is brought about by sharing
and celebrating together. (Two and one-half days, two nights; Saint
Anthony Retreat Center)
Twelfth
Grade “Kairos”
The Kairos (an awakening;
special moment) retreat allows seniors to see the value of Christian
faith as it is lived and experienced in the community. It gives
them the opportunity to look within themselves and find their true
worth and observe how this worth is reinforced in their relationships
with God, their parents and their neighbors. (Three and one-half
days, three nights; Saint Stephen’s Diocesan Center)
“Marianist
LIFE” Living in Faith Experience

by the Marianist Province of the United States. Twelve students
who are going into their senior year are chosen among their peers.
This program is designed to enable high school students to establish
and to nurture Marianist LIFE Communities in the tradition of the
Marianists. These MLCs gather in faith and prayer, invite others
to join, and participate in the mission of Jesus to serve others
where the needs are most unmet in school as well as in the larger
world of which they are citizens. (Six days, five nights; Mission
Springs, Scott’s Valley, CA)
