You will generally have homework daily.  Usually, homework is not assigned on the day preceding a test.  The homework for that night should be to spend extra time preparing for the test.

Students are strongly urged to make use of the tutorial period offered daily except for Tuesdays (teacher meeting days).  Tutoring is also a service made available by students of our National Honor Society.

Please stay on top of the work.  While catching up is sometimes necessary (due to illness or other absence), it is seldom a recipe for success.  Cramming generally has short-term results.  However, this information seldom "sticks with you".  When big exams come around, crammers usually choke and do not do well.

Make it a point to study current and past topics throughout the course.

Writing assignments will be scattered throughout the course.

Project work is an integral part of my courses.  You may need a 3.25" floppy disk for storage of some of your work.  Usually, work may be sent to the zip drive attached to my classroom computer.  You may also e-mail (mcarrasquillo@saintlouishawaii.org) your work to me, especially if file size is a problem.
