HAWAII MARANIST SCHOOLS BUILD COMMUNITY THROUGH UNITY
HONOLULU & WAILUKU
- On January 5, 2006 our two Marianist Schools in Hawaii, Saint Louis School located on Oahu and
St. Anthony Jr./Sr. High School of Maui. The two schools teamed up to hold the first collaborative St.
Anthony Senior Retreat. The theme of the retreat was "Building Community through Unity", and focused on
relationships - with God, with self and others in their community.
The program was co-facilitated by St. Anthony Campus Minister Ernie Mendoza, and
Saint Louis School Religion Department Chairperson Bob Noguchi and was held at the Waikapu Community
Center and at St. Anthony School on the beautiful island of Maui. January is Marianist Heritage Month
and this retreat provided a perfect opportunity to continue building the bridge of unity and family
spirit between our Marianist schools in the Hawaiian Islands.
