Briefs: There are business out there that provide preparation materials for debaters which are called briefs. Briefs usually include analysis by experienced coaches, evidence for several key points, and sometimes sample cases. Due to the lack of Lincoln-Douglas Debaters our team will not be purchasing briefs this year. However, for students interested in briefs we recommend Victory Briefs.

Research: To understand a topic, one must read current material about it. Such current material may be found by searching both electronically or by print means.

bulletElectronically: Access good search engines like GOOGLE , Yahoo! , or MSN Search.

Type in key words of the topic (i.e. "Tax Cuts" or "Armed Pilots"). The search engine will list websites which discuss that issue. Click on those sites to read and download material.

bulletPrint: You may access the Reader's Guide to Periodical Literature at the school library. The Guide lists articles in current periodicals by topic.
