Wahipana Service Learning
We had an opportunity to work alongside University of Hawai’i graduate students in education who visited Saint Louis School’s Pālolo stream to learn how we monitor fish populations to improve the environment for endemic species. Here they’re collaborating to corral the fish into nets for counting and sorting. Lots of invasive species, and few o’opu nākea. The stream is also a sacred site, or wahipana from ancient times. |
