BH 2nd Floor Conference Room (Meeting)
    Aloha e Faculty,

The Cooperative Learning Leadership Team will be meeting on our campus this coming Thursday, 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
The team will be meeting to touch base on how each participating school is benefiting from the summer training. The team will then break out into smaller teams and conduct observations of teachers who attended Cooperative Learning trainings in the past two years.

Thursday, August 30 is a Schedule "B" so please plan to be visited during periods 2 or 3. If you would like to volunteer to be visited, please e-mail me so that I can ensure you are included on the list of observations.
The team understands that we are in YEAR 1 of training...so if you can ensure that you have your class teams already set up and objectives on the board, use of the Quiet Signal, structures (if possible) that would be wonderful. We are learning along with all the other schools who are implementing the Model...so it is valuable for us to see where each school is at professionally.

The Team will travel to a different school each month to conduct the same feedback meeting and observations of teachers. St. Louis happens to be the first school in the cycle. Please let me know if you would like to be observed and the time frame of the observation.

    DESCRIPTION

Each year in Hawaii, 50,000 women between the ages of 18 and 64 are victims of domestic violence. In an effort to raise awareness of this alarming crisis, the community is invited to participate in the 24th Annual Men’s March Against Violence on Thursday, October 4, 2018.

The event will begin at the State Capitol Rotunda at 11:45 am with a remembrance ceremony honoring victims of domestic violence who have passed in the last year. The March will leave from the Capitol at 12:00 noon and end with a rally featuring guest speakers at 'Iolani Palace.

While men are asked to march, the community at-large is urged to support them. The event is meant to raise awareness about the issue of domestic violence and how to prevent such incidents from taking place or provide resources to victims seeking help. Over 1,000 people participated in last year’s march and rally, bringing in new and younger male attendees in hopes of instilling values of peace and non-violence at a younger age.

Sponsors of the event include Catholic Charities of Hawai’i, Central Pacific Bank, Chaminade University, the City & County of Honolulu,Domestic Violence Action Center, Kaiser Permanente, Mental Health America of Hawai'i, Parents And Children Together (PACT), and UH Mānoa.
