  • Jordan Botelho

    After helping our Crusaders win their 4th straight HHSAA State Championship, Jordan Botelho was selected to play in the All-American Bowl in San Antonio, TX on Saturday, January 4th at 1:00 PM EST.  The game can be seen live on NBC.

    The All-American Bowl, celebrating its 20th year, is the premier and most watched high school sporting event, showcasing 100 of the top senior football talents in the country. Jordan is the only student-athlete receiving this honor from the state of Hawai`i. 

    Saint Louis School hosted the presentation of the All-American Bowl jersey on December 2nd in Mamiya Theatre. The entire Elementary School and Jordan's senior classmates joined him in the ceremony, along with his family.

    Jordan, with a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.59, will take his academic and athletic talents to the University of Notre Dame next year.

  • JT Navyac and Austin Teixeira

    Seniors JT Navyac and Austin Teixeira will continue their baseball careers at the collegiate level. Both signed letter of intents to play during last week's National Letter of Intent signing day.  

    JT Navyac will play at Cal State Fullerton.

    Austin Teixeira will play for University of Hawaii, Manoa.

    JT Navyac had a chance to showcase his talents at the Area Code Baseball program, where top athletes from across the country compete in a summer tournament.  It is an opportunity for scouts from professional and collegiate baseball to view top prospects in one place over a few days.  Another Saint Louis School baseball player joined JT in the Area Code competition.  Junior Caleb Lomavita also competed.

    Both JT and Austin received significant scholarships to help finance their college costs.

    Saint Louis Senior Baily Yee’s Summer Experience

    Baily Yee, 20’ and one of Saint Lous School's varsity wrestling coaches, Trenton Teruya, spent four days from July 11 to July 14, 2019, at The Battles Won Academy in Washington D.C.

    The Battles Won Academy is part of the Marine Corps’ Semper Fidelis All-American Program, which recognizes young men and women who excel in athletics, but have also shown themselves to be leaders in the classroom and in their communities.  Students were selected for the program based on moral character and academic performance in addition to athletic abilities.

    Only 48 men and 48 women were selected among over 7,000 applicants to attend the academy, which focused on developing their self-confidence, discipline, teamwork, and honing the fighting spirit that embodies the Marine Corps.  Baily was part of this elite group nationwide and represented Saint Louis School, Hawaii, and his community.

    As a celebration of his success as Semper Fidelis All-American, Baily received the all-expenses paid trip to attend the four-day Battles Won Academy.  He also had the opportunity to invite a mentor of his choice to attend alongside him and Baily chose Coach Teruya.

    Activities at The Battles Won Academy included:
    • Participated in daily workouts, an immersive Marine Corps experience on base in Quantico.
    • Competed and Baily came in 1st in the Marine Corps Quantico Obstacle Course Challenge. 
    • Wrestled with Frank Molinaro of the 2016 U.S. Olympic Wrestling Team at the
    • Wrestling Fitness Challenge held at American University.
    • Performed community service building bicycles for the Boys and Girls Club of the Greater Washington area. 
    • Engaged in team building outings.
    • Toured our Nation’s Capital and had a private tour of the National Archives where Rye Barcott, CEO, spoke to the All-Americans about winning battles
    • The experience ended with a banquet where the Semper Fidelis All-Americans networked with an elite circle of speakers from all walks of life and various industries who shared their stories of fighting and winning battles in their own lives.  Speakers included:
      • James Conner, NFL Pittsburgh Steelers Running Back

      • Becky Hammon, WNBA and NBA Coach San Antonio Spurs

      • Sage Steele, EPSN Anchor

      • Ashton Eaton, Olympic Gold Medalist in the Decathlon

      • Col. David Everly, Commanding Officer, Marine Corps Base Quantico

      • Major General James Bierman, Commanding General, Marine Corps Recruiting Command
